Butterfly stuffed pillow made from clean, gently used sweater with fabric yo-yos
This pillow is a new look for me, and it will probably be the only butterfly I ever sew, as it took several hours to make. I started with a slightly used, clean sweater and cut the shape of the butterfly out using the front and the back of the sweater. I used pink yarn to hand-sew the butterfly together using the blanket stitch. It is stuffed using 100 percent polyester fiber fill. I made 2 different sizes of fabric yo-yos using 3 coordinating fabrics for the colorful dots on the butterfly and hot-glued them in place. Velvet black ribbon is attached to create the "body" of the butterfly and a pink chenille stem is the butterfly's antenna. I hot-glued plastic crystal-like large sequins to the centers of each yo-yo circle. Measures approximately 14 inches wide (at its widest) by 10 inches high (at its highest). It's about 3 inches thick overall.
