Adorable wood small hand-painted nativity manger with gold metallic star
My mom bought this handmade table years ago and then proceeded to tear it apart and redo it. We were left with this beautifully painted 2x6 wood. I held onto it for years, not knowing what to do with it. I finally came up with this nativity idea, with inspiration from Pinterest. I had my husband cut the wood into this "house" or "stable" shape. I painted the new cuts to match the already existing paint. I then hand-painted Mary, Joseph, and a baby Jesus head (made from a thin piece of wood and cut into a head shape by my dad). I then sanded what I painted to match the already-weathered paint from the 2x6, giving the entire piece a rustic, weathered look. My dad cut the manger from this piece of rustic wood I had. I took a wood star and painted it in metallic gold acrylic paint. I used wood glue to attach the star and manger, adding real decorative straw for actual straw in the manger. I just love how it all turned out. I gave the entire piece a couple of coats of a clear, matte protective spray finish. This nativity could go just about anywhere--an office, dorm room, apartment, part of a tiered tray, or added to just about any Christmas decor. Measures approximately 5 1/4" w x 11 3/4"h.
